BILLINGS, Mont. − Senior pitcher Austin Donmoyer (Pine Grove, Pa./Pine Grove Area HS) and junior shortstop Cale Owen (Clearwater, Fla./home school) were selected to the All-Independent Collegiate Athletic Association (ICAA) second team in a release Friday morning.

The ICAA, in baseball, consists of Columbia Union College, Chowan University, Flagler College, Lake Erie College, North Greenville University, Oakland City University, Palm Beach Atlantic University, Saint Michael’s College and Urbana University. The team was selected by ICAA Director Mike Bond.

Donmoyer finished the season with a 5-7 record and a staff-best 4.17 earned run average. He made 15 appearances, with 12 of those coming as starts, and pitched two complete games. Donmoyer struck out a season-high 10 batters in a complete game win over Seton Hill University on Mar. 6. He owns the school’s all-time record for starts in a career with 47. Donmoyer was selected as the team’s most valuable player.

Owen batted .314 with 50 hits, 10 doubles, three triples, two home runs and 15 runs batted in. He led the club with 72 total bases and his .453 slugging percentage also was tops on the team. Owen also helped turn 27 double plays and finished with a .947 fielding percentage.

The Flagler baseball program will now compete in the Peach Belt Conference starting next spring.

Earning ICAA Player of the Year honors were Justin Bagbey of Chowan and Jordan Baker of Urbana. Bagbey also took home the Freshman of the Year award. Pitcher of the Year went to Robert Butts of Columbia Union. Nathan Heggestead of Columbia Union was tabbed as the Coach of the Year.

Designated Hitter: Derek Fulmer (NGU).
